Why Flip Screen is the Best
Comparisons to consider before purchasing your screening attachment
Can screen sizes be changed on site?
FlipScreen meshes can be changed in just 5 minutes with no tools required.
Does the screening attachment spill while slewing or travelling?
Unlike most other screening attachments, which spill material as soon as it is scooped, the FlipScreen’s base is designed similarly to a standard bucket and is watertight. This allows the operator to drive around the site with a full load without spillage.
When using your bucket for washing, can the screening attachment be submerged in water?
FlipScreens are built using Duocone steel-on-steel seals, allowing them to screen underwater and convert from a screener to a mobile wash plant.
Can the screener be used in highly acidic and caustic environments?
FlipScreen’s special application “Fert Screen” range is specifically designed for fertilizer and salt applications, where other screening attachments would rust and dissolve over time.
Can the attachment screen any material?
FlipScreen Screening Buckets can process any tough material. Anything from concrete with rebar to bricks and large rocks. Made from high-tensile steel and utilising the FlipScreen’s revolutionary action; it is ensured that smooth operation and effective material separation is accomplished with ease. Inferior screening attachments, especially those with internal moving shafts, struggle with this task. Entanglement of material in these types of attachments can cause catastrophic failures. FlipScreen’s mesh screens are made from mining-grade, high-tensile steel ensuring long lasting durability and low maintenance.
Does the screening attachment offer adequate surface area?
FlipScreen offers the largest screening surface area in its class, resulting in high-volume screening rates. For example, the WL180 wheel loader screening bucket has a screen surface area of 73.2 square feet. The material travels the entire mesh area before being inverted (flipped) and falling back onto the mesh every 2.5 seconds per cycle.
Can the bucket dig into unexcavated ground?
The base of the FlipScreen attachment is virtually identical to that of a standard excavator or loader bucket, enabling the FlipScreen to break into unexcavated ground. Care must be taken when using other attachments, as they may cause structural damage or distortion to the inner barrel.
Is the attachment effective at breaking up material clumps?
During the first 7.5 seconds of screening; material is gently processed. Larger lumps are then slammed onto the mesh by the FlipScreen’s “flipping action”. In many applications, operators leave the remaining larger lumps in the bucket while continuing to scoop and screen more material; resulting in the larger materials breaking up over several cycles.
Can the sorting attachment screen harsh materials and scrap?
FlipScreen attachments have replaced hundreds of portable screening plants worldwide in the scrap industry. This type of application is impossible to achieve with a standard portable screening plant. FlipScreen’s products excel in harsh environments, screening engine blocks, concrete with rebar, crusher plates, and other harsh materials. Shaft-type sorting buckets are not suitable for these applications.
Does the screening attachment offer customisable mesh sizes?
FlipScreen offers a standard mesh range starting at 6.3mm aperture and extending to 150mm aperture (¼” to 6”). Custom meshes can also be made to suit specific applications.
Can the attachment function as a mixer?
The FlipScreen’s inward spiralling action allows it to be easily converted into a mixer capable of blending any material by using a FlipScreen mixing plate. This replaces the mesh and transforms the bucket into a mixer.
Can the screening attachment be fitted to multiple carriers?
The FlipScreen’s revolutionary “plug and play” smart valve system enables the attachment to be switched between carriers without the need for hydraulic alterations. This saves time and costs by eliminating the need for a hydraulic technician to set up each machine. In many cases, the FlipScreen attachments can handle incorrect pressure and flow deliveries while maintaining the correct speed and action. This results in a seamless operation without negatively affecting the FlipScreen or carrier machine.
Is the screening bucket “Safe Working Load” compliant?
FlipScreen offers the largest range of screening attachments globally, with 26 models to ensure that each carrier/attachment combination is within the safe working load tolerance. Care should be taken not to use attachments with unrealistic or misleading carrier weight ranges, as this may cause dangerous overloading.
Does the attachment feature a replaceable cutting edge?
Most FlipScreen attachments come standard with a reversible, bolt-on cutting edge. This allows new cutting edges to be fitted in the field without needing to cut and weld a new edge. Most other screening buckets do not feature this. This is important because FlipScreen’s products are durable and have a long operating life, becoming an integral part of various industries rather than a temporary, light-duty solution.
Can the screening attachment also function as a standard bucket?
FlipScreen offers the largest range of carrier options, closely replicating the standard bucket for each type of carrier. This allows the FlipScreen to be used for standard functions in addition to screening. When used on an excavator, the attachment feels much like a standard bucket. When used on loaders, it feels like a standard bucket, and the operator can see through to the cutting edge.
Is the attachment a high-quality, well-designed product?
FlipScreen has won multiple industry innovation awards for its unique design. All FlipScreen design and manufacturing is carried out by FlipScreen Australia to an award-winning standard.
Can the screening attachment clear landmines and unexploded ordinance?
Militaries have achieved a 100% demining rate using FlipScreens.
Can the screening attachment screen scrap metal?
FlipScreens have replaced hundreds of so called portable screening plants all over the world in the scrap industry as this type of application is simply impossible to achieve with a standard portable screening plant. FlipScreens have excelled in this harsh environment and have screened out engine blocks, ship anchors, crusher plates and anything that can be scooped up.
Can the screening attachment be used to screen into trucks?
The FlipScreen can be used to load trucks whether screening directly into the truck or scooping and dumping like a standard bucket. The FlipScreen still has a normal crowd function of a standard bucket. Other screening attachments are not suited for this as they inherently start to spill as soon as material is scooped ruling them out as a loading bucket
